Utilities Surveys

Commissioning a utilities survey will give you a fuller understanding of the relationships between services, buildings and the external environment through feasibility stage and planning, detailed design of new service connections, avoiding damage to live services at construction stage and on to the construction health and safety file for future reference.

Using modern efficient equipment and techniques on site, our team of surveyors consistently deliver a high-level service, key features of which are accuracy, process efficiency, attention to detail, understanding end-user needs and offering a wider engineering solution.

Locating services is a complex multi-stage process on site involving the use of a variety of techniques including radio frequency location, ground probing radar and visual inspection including manhole chamber information. Services location is typically recorded using standard topographic survey techniques.

Whether collating STATS information from utilities providers or tracing services on site, we deliver a comprehensive and considered solution to your requirements. STATS information is useful but it is not sufficiently comprehensive or accurate for design purposes, and may not be shown on private sites.

Output would typically take the form of a 2D or 3D model showing the location of services across the survey area, together with a report discussing survey outcomes. Combined with an intelligent assessment of the anticipated service feeds into the survey area this allows as full an assessment of the existing services across a site as possible.

Further information on drainage including structural condition of pipework can be obtained by CCTV camera survey inspection. Output using industry-standard software grades defects and can be used to prepare a remediation strategy.
