Ground Investigation

INTRUSIVE GROUND INVESTIGATION WORKS

The ground investigation allows site specific data to be gathered on ground conditions to inform the contaminative status of the soils and groundwater underlying the site. BWB use intrusive investigation techniques, in situ testing and laboratory analyses, the results of which are then used to quantify identified constraints or opportunities associated with the contaminative status of the site within the context of the project and the ground model.

HUMAN HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT USING CLEA FRAMEWORK

Once the Phase 1 and 2 investigations of a site have been completed, BWB offer an in-house capability to assess the risks posed to human health in line with the CLEA Framework, based on the determined contaminative status of the site. BWB have used the CLEA Framework to derive end use specific Generic Site Assessment Criteria (GSAC) values for a range of inorganic and organic contaminants in order to assess whether contaminant concentrations recorded on site pose unacceptable risks to human health receptors based on the proposed site end use. This assessment can be taken further to a detailed risk assessment if required, on a site by site basis.

CONTROLLED WATERS RISK ASSESSMENT

BWB screen site specific controlled waters data against the latest UK Guideline Values for a range of organic and inorganic contaminants to understand where potential risks may be realised.
