BWB assisted in delivering a successful planning permission for 452,000 square feet of industrial space on a 24-acre plot of land at Ditton Park in Widnes. We were commissioned by the developers Stoford to provide transport and environmental pre-planning services as part of their application for outline planning consent from Halton Council.

The proposed site is located off Newstead Road and adjacent to an existing industrial estate so an existing roundabout would be used to access both developments. Transport assessment and travel plan BWB’s Transport Planning team used roundabout modelling to assess the impact of the extra vehicles on this junction, testing the different volumes and types of traffic generated by a variety of end-uses such as storage or manufacturing. By analysing these different scenarios we concluded that mitigation measures would not be required however the land is developed, giving the client the freedom to develop the site as they wish.
