BWB Consulting has begun delivering a package of pre-demolition utility surveys along the proposed Phase 1 route for HS2 in Birmingham.

The project kicked off last month after our Infrastructure Management team was appointed by The Coleman Group to undertake surveys on 122 buildings across 22 sites along the Birmingham Spur between Stoneleigh and Curzon Street, including the sites for the Curzon Street station and Washwood Heath depot. BWB’s role is to locate, identify and verify the utilities associated with those structures in order for the disconnection and diversionary works to take place which is required for their demolition. Our first site visit took place on April 19th and the works are expected to take around 6 months to complete.

Armani Akbar-Roy, Senior Utility Consultant at BWB, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work with The Coleman Goup on a scheme of both national and regional importance and will further enhance our reputation in the rail sector. Our surveyors are doing brilliant work showcasing their skills and shining a positive light on BWB’s capabilities.”
