Road Safety Audits

Road Safety Audits (RSAs) fulfil a vital role in checking that roads have been designed and built to the highest safety standards. All strategic road schemes and the majority of new works on local roads are required to have an independent RSA to identify potential road safety hazards arising from planned changes to the road layout and to suggest measures to eliminate or mitigate any concerns.

As a multi-disciplinary engineering company, BWB understands the importance of high quality, pragmatic RSAs in the design and approval of transport schemes. Our specialist team have developed an impressive track record of delivering these audits for developers, contractors and other designers.

BWB have undertaken RSAs for a wide range of schemes across the UK, from simple access junctions to motorway junctions and entire new road networks. These audits have spanned all the stages set out in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges standard HD19/15, and span from preliminary design at Stage 1 through to the review 36 months after project completion at Stage 4, and all in between.

In addition, we understand that the need for approvals can have implications on development programmes and therefore RSAs can be extremely time sensitive. That is why we pride ourselves not only on the quality of our reporting, but also on our responsiveness.
