BWB are very proud to act as main structural engineers for this exciting development on the City Hospital campus, just north of Nottingham city centre.

The Elective Orthopaedic Theatres provide surgical facilities for the treatment of injuries and conditions of the musculoskeletal system - including surgery on joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves.

BWB provided the structural and civil engineering for the proposed development which included the demolition of existing structures and tie into the existing buildings. BWB also provided Geo Environmental Reports with Ground Investigation, Surveys and Topographical Survey of the area and the surrounding buildings.

Key Challenges

There were a number of underground trackways in the location of new columns. These were bridged with steel transfer beams. Tying the new structure into the existing and breaking out the existing brickwork tower.
