Warren Bennett and Robert Henshall show their Great Manchester Run medals

Team BWB crossed the finish line of the Great Manchester Run on Sunday despite a leg injury and very little training. Regional Director Robert Henshall and Associate Director Warren Bennett from our Manchester office completed the 10km race raising over £500 for their regional charity, the Mustard Tree.

Beating his personal best of 49 minutes and 2 seconds, Warren finished the race in only 48 minutes and 2 seconds! Despite having never done 10K before and damaging his Achilles just weeks before the event, Rob completed the race in an impressive 1 hour 8 minutes and 58 seconds. He commented: “After the events of this past week, this was so much more than a run, it was a chance for us to stand together and unite as a city. This truly was a Great Manchester Run, and it was incredible to take part in such a memorable 10K.”

Since 1994, Mustard Tree has transformed the lives of people in Greater Manchester who are trapped in poverty or homelessness, by enabling them to gain the skills and self-confidence they need to reach their full potential. The charity was nominated to be the regional charity for BWB Manchester by employees in the office and this is one of the many ways the office will be supporting this great cause.

Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor the guys for the event where any money raised is directly passed to the Mustard Tree. Through the generosity of colleagues and the public they’ve managed to raise £576.25 so far. You can still donate up to a month after the event so we would appreciate your support and thank you for any donations made.
