BWB, A BEST COMPANY!

23 February 2017

Steve & Elizabeth receive our Top 100 award from Robert Hands, Executive Managing Editor from The Sunday Times

Why BWB stands for one of the Best Workplaces in Britain

We finally did it! After previously taking part in the Best Companies Survey - and twice achieving One to Watch status, then One Star status followed by Two Star status this year -  we’ve just been ranked Number 59 in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies

Best Companies is the organisation behind the highly acclaimed benchmark for measuring the way employee engagement drives business growth. BWB’s entry into the listing was based on a rigorous examination by Best Companies, including an in-depth anonymised survey designed to establish how our people really feel about working here.

Praising BWB for its “outstanding” achievement, Jonathan Austin, CEO and founder of Best Companies said: “We know the main challenge this year will be talent attraction and retention. For organisations like BWB that have demonstrated their ability to create an engaged workforce and recognise the importance of caring about their employees, they are in a good position to retain and attract the talent they need.”

Best Companies accreditation measures performance in areas such as employee well-being, staff rewards, personal growth, effective team work, leadership and how deeply staff buy-in to business goals.

Head of HR, Liz Hardwick-Smith hailed this fabulous achievement as a tribute to all staff. She explained: “Becoming a Top 100 Company  is not an exam you can just pass – it’s a journey the whole business has to go on. Securing accreditation is the result of engaging with our people year after year, listening to what they have to say, and working really hard together to build a better business.

“It’s something we’re massively enthusiastic about so we have business improvement teams driving our three key priorities – people, business growth and operational efficiency. We’ve also introduced a fantastic loyalty programme, giving people sabbaticals, enhanced pensions, allowances, rewards and discount schemes.”

She added: “Being ranked 59th in the country is just amazing. We’ve worked year on year to get into this position and we won’t stop there.”

Chief Executive, Steve Wooler, concluded: "Over the past couple of years we’ve won a string of major awards related to the way the business performs, but they all point to the same thing: a company with a real sense of purpose and ambition.

"Best Companies accreditation is probably the most important of all, however, because it proves that our ambition to be the best is shared by everyone in the business. We have brilliant people delivering some amazing projects for our Clients and that’s what drives our progress.

"I couldn’t be prouder. We’ve had to overcome some tough challenges during the 27 years we’ve been in business, but our collective willingness to continually adapt and improve has put us in a very strong position to exploit new opportunities. I’m confident that BWB’s future is very bright."
